          CRITICAL BLACK EXPRESSION

          ARTIST
STATEMENT.

As a visual storyteller, I use my work to explore the complexities of identity, history, and spirituality within African American and African diasporic communities. I create through the lens of Critical Black Expression, a framework that merges academic inquiry and creative process. My art is an ongoing dialogue between the past, present, and future. I challenge dominant narratives and provide an alternative vision, one where the stories of Black people are told on our own terms. Through sculpture, video,         and mixed media, I weave together personal and collective histories, centering Black experiences and spiritual practices to reclaim and redefine cultural expressions. My work is an act of resistance and celebration, rooted in the decolonization of artistic practices and the restoration of ancestral knowledge.
